The Executive Secretary, National Board for Technical Education, Prof. Idris Muhammad Bugaje was at the launch of Hinata Energy Bio Fuel Cook Stove which was held at Kaduna Polytechnic by the Centre for Renewable Energy, Sustainable Technology and Development (CRESTAD) headed by Engr Dr Musa Daji Abdullahi. The Executive Secretary who expressed hope for the Centre to become a hub for Sustainable Research in Nigeria, commended the initiative of Hinata Energy and CRESTAD for the Innovation and urged Nigerians to go beyond Research and Development and move into Innovation. This according to the Executive Secretary is what is required to make Nigeria a Producing Economy rather than being a Consumer Nation and a dumping ground for all kinds of products.
The Ag. Rector of Kaduna Polytechnic, Dr Suleiman Umar, called on Nigerians to patronize the cook stove while urging the company to produce more of the products which runs on Bio Fuel for use in homes as an alternative to kerosene and cooking gas in terms of cost effectiveness and safety. He expressed great joy for the achievements of the Centre and emphasized that the Centre will continue to promote Research in Nigeria.
The Chief Executive Officer of Hinata Energy, Engr Kamaldeen Kasim recommended the Cook Stove for use by students in hostels. Engr Kamal stated that an Abstract of a research by Prof Idris M. Bugaje on renewable energy was what spurred him to embark on the research and thanked him for his guidance and mentoring.
