NBTE Releases Report of Institutional Ranking of Nigerian Polytechnics

FEDERAL POLYTECHNICS NEKEDE-OWERRI, ILARO AND KADUNA POLYTECHNIC EMERGE 1ST , 2ND AND 3RD POSITIONS RESPECTIVELY. The National Board for Technical Education (NBTE) has released the report of the Pilot Institutional Ranking of Nigerian Polytechnics for the 2015/16 and 2016/17 academic years with Federal Polytechnics Nekede, Imo State; Ilaro, Ogun State and Kaduna Polytechnic emerging first, second and third positions respectively.

NBTE Scribe Canvases Paradigm Shift from TVET to NSQF

The Executive Secretary of the National Board for Technical Education, Dr. Masa'udu Adamu Kazaure has canvased for a system of skills training that ensures that all types of skills for employment are recognized and benchmarked on a common framework. Dr. Kazaure who wants a paradigm shift in skills training from the conventional Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) to institutionalization of National Skills Qualifications Framework (NSQF) said the NSQF is fundamental to the recognition, validation, certification and harmonization of skills qualifications acquired from different learning environment.

“Treat Education as an Emergency Second Only to War” - NBTE Board Chairman

The Chairman of the Governing Board of the National Board for Technical Education (NBTE), Prof. Modupe Adelabu has charged members of the Governing Board to treat education as an emergency second only to war. Prof. Adelabu who gave the charge in an address she delivered at the 80th Regular Meeting of the Board in Kaduna said education is the best panacea for poverty, empowerment and national development.

Minister Tasks Polytechnics on Production of Skilled Manpower

The Honourable Minister of Education, Mallam Adamu Adamu, has charged polytechnics in the country to rise up to the task of producing best and efficient skilled and productive manpower. The Minister gave the charge in an address he delivered at the 13th joint convocation ceremony of the Waziri Umaru Federal Polytechnic, Birnin Kebbi, Kebbi State which was held on 12th May, 2018.

HME Flags-off Nigerian Skills Qualifications Framework

Nigeria's Minister of Education, Mallam Adamu Adamu has flagged-off the Nigerian Skills Qualifications Framework (NSQF). The Minister who performed the ceremony on Thursday 15th February, 2018 at the National Universities Commission (NUC) Auditorium in Abuja commended the National Board for Technical Education (NBTE) for developing the framework and for promoting Technical Vocational Education and Training (TVET) in Nigeria.

NBTE Wants Telecomm Companies' Support to Expand ICT Infrastructure in Polytechnics

Officials of the National Board for Technical Education (NBTE) and some heads of polytechnics were at the headquarters of two Nigerian telecommunication giants, Airtel Networks and Globacom Ltd. to solicit for the companies' support towards upgrading and expanding the Information Communication Technology (ICT) infrastructure for campus-wide connectivity in the TVET sector.

NBTE Commences Massive Data Mop-Up, Monitoring and Evaluation of Capital Projects and Manpower Planning, Assessment and Needs in TVET Institutions

The National Board for Technical Education (NBTE) has dispatched officers of the Board to TVET institutions under its purview for massive base-line statistical data mop-up exercise for the 2015/2016 and 2016/2017 academic sessions just as it has also mobilized its staff for monitoring and evaluation of capital projects and manpower planning assessment and needs in TVET institutions.
